The Taste of Aran Afghan project began in the Fall 2001 issue of Twists and Turns. This afghan is composed of twenty 12" x 12" blocks, each featuring a different cable or textured stitch pattern (something which might be found in an Aran sweater design).

Formerly, the afghan block patterns were only available by buying all seven of the back issues in which they appeared (at a cost of $35). A compilation of all twenty block patterns is now available.
